Interest on the regulation of carotenoid biosynthesis in plants (Arabidopsis, tomato). Focus on the supply of carotenoid precursors by the MEP pathway (with a particular interest in the first enzyme of the pathway, DXS) and their channeling into the carotenoid pathway (by GGPP synthases). Transcriptional regulation of the carotenoid pathway entry-point enzyme (phytoene synthase) by light signaling factors. Carotenoid-derived retrograde signals. Carotenoid biotechnology in plants and bacteria.
