Short research description:

I am research group leader located at the University of Aix -Marseille (France). My research activity is dedicated to the study of impact of lipophilics micronutrients on adipose tissue biology, and consequences in term of obesity and associated physiopathological disorders, such as insulin resistance and inflammation. Since a few years, I am mainly focused on effects of carotenoids, especially lycopene and beta-carotene.
Several aspects of adipocyte biology are studied, including, inflammation, browning, adipogenesis, lipid metabolism, glucose uptake, and carotenoids metabolism.
Translational approaches, from cell cultures to preclinical and clinical studies are favored in my group.

Techniques routinely used:
adipocytes culture, gene expression (qPCR, microarray), miRNA expression, protein expression (WB, proteome profiler, ELISA), study of signaling pathway, molecular and cellular biology applied to adipocytes, preclinical studies in the fiedl of obesity
Instrumentation/Facilities:
animal facilities, microarray platform, qPCR platform, multilabel plate reader
